Federchimica is the National Federation of Chemical Industry. Born in 1916 as Fenachimici, National Association of Chemical-Pharmaceutical Industries. In 1920 it became the National Federation of Associations between Industrial Chemicals, and in 1945 Aschimici – National Association of Chemical Industry, became a Federation in 1984. It is part of Confindustria and, in Europe, CEFIC (European Chemical Industry Council) and ‘ECEG (European Chemical Employers Group).

Aims:

  • Coordinate and protect the role of the chemical industry in Italy;
  • Promote its development capabilities, develop lines of economic, industrial, trade union policy, as well as in the fields of ecology and the environment, development and innovation, energy policy;
  • Promote these policies to the public authorities, national economic organizations, other business organizations, international organizations to which the Federation participates, labor unions, environmental organizations and consumers;
  • Contribute to the formation of a correct image of the chemical industry in public opinion;
  • Conducting studies and research that inspire and legitimize entrepreneurial choices;
  • To contribute to the constant promotion of the quality level of the associated companies, organizing in particular initiatives in the field of innovation.
