IIP – Istituto Italiano dei Plastici was founded in 1956 with the intent to develop and focus its activities on certification services on both system and products in the plastics supply chain. Over time IIP has expanded its activities and the services provided through the implementation of advanced and qualified testing laboratories for mechanical and chemical characterization of materials and plastic products, rubber, paper and paperboard, becoming the institutional reference body in the business sector.

IIP is part of:

• CISQ, the Italian Federation of Certification Bodies. As a member of CISQ, IIP adheres to the international network IQNet , that brings together the certification bodies operating in 30 countries where the majority of world trade is handled;
• CONFORMA, Association of the Certification, Inspection, Testing and Calibration Bodies.
