UNIMI green chemistry skills: feedstock supplies and sustainable green chemistry development to produce food, chemicals, biofuels and energy.

UNIMI research and development items are:

  • Biomass production and characterisation (by-product, waste, no-food agricultural production);
  • Biomass pre-treatment to produce biofuels (biogas, biohydrogen and biodiesel);
  • Developing and optimisation of the high added value molecules extraction technology for the food, cosmetic, pharmaceutic and nutraceutical sectors;
  • Developing and optimisation of the catalyst production for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries;
  • Biomass-energy production chain sustainability evaluation;
  • Microalgae cultivation to produce high added value molecules and biofuel;
  • Vegetal biomass bioconversion to produce molecules destined to the polymers and food sectors;
  • Green technology.
